About Me#

My Avatar

Hi, I’m Cliff. I’m an IT professional with a passion for technology that goes beyond just the daily grind—it’s about solving problems, exploring new ideas, and sometimes just getting a little creative with how we do things. I like to think of technology as a tool that can make life smoother and more interesting, whether at work or at home.

My Journey#

I got my start in IT driven by a simple curiosity about how things work. Growing up, I learned by doing, and in turn mistakes were made but lessons were learned. I recall working on a Compaq Presario Laptop which was very expensive back in the day and I did break it. However, we had the ‘Computer Guy’ make a house visit and I watched with curiosity how the system got repaired. Maybe that was what helped stoke the flames leading to my desire for a career in tech.

Anyway, over the years, I’ve tackled projects of all sizes—from helping small startups find their footing to working with large enterprises on complex systems. I’ve worked in the private sector and am currently employed in an IT managerial position within the public sector in local government. There have been many stepping stones throughout my career that have lead me down the path to where I find myself today. Each step has taught me something new and shaped my approach to technology and problem-solving.

Expertise#

  • Cloud Solutions:
I help businesses move to the cloud, ensuring everything from hosted email to infrastructure services runs seamlessly. My aim is to keep your digital life as smooth as possible.

  • On-Premise Solutions:
Sometimes, you need the hands-on control of your own hardware. I design on-premise systems that put you in the driver’s seat, keeping your data secure and under your control.

  • Mobile Solutions:
In today’s fast-paced world, flexibility is key. I build solutions that let you work from wherever you are, without compromising on security or productivity.

Philosophy#

I see every technical challenge as an opportunity—a puzzle waiting to be solved. With the right mix of experience and creativity, even the most complex issues can become manageable solutions. Technology, at its best, is about making life easier and more enjoyable.

Outside of Work#

When I’m not immersed in IT, you’ll find me diving into a range of hobbies. I love tinkering with mechanical projects, experimenting in the kitchen (yes, I’ve brewed my own beer and baked some pretty ambitious artisan breads), and even strumming a guitar now and then, and of course, playing with my son and spending time with my wife. These creative outlets help keep my problem-solving skills sharp and remind me that life is about balance.
